Fantastic. Consider me hooked on this series.

Why did I even bother?

A long overdue read for me, but well worth the wait. Starting and ending the series with this book would not be a horrible call.

A little slow on the development, but still enjoyable.

Hard to root or care for a ridiculously unlikeable character.

Scalzi's sense of humor mixed with his gift for storytelling makes for one hell of a sequel.

The return of main series protagonist Jon Perry pleased me greatly.

A fun return to the Matador universe I had discovered as a kid, but standard Perry otherwise.

Not the best in the series by far, but obviously the calm before the storm.

Card could learn a thing or two about alternative perspectives.
